Wheels & Castors / Castors

Product Information:

Castors

SWIVEL CASTORS

In swivel castors the wheel and fork turn a full 360 degrees, whilst the top plate remains in a fixed position.  When pressure is applied through the top plate it causes the castor to swivel in line so that the wheel always trails in the opposite direction to which the equipment is being moved.  They are available in sizes from 40mm upto 400mm and are suitable for light duty, medium duty and heavy duty applications.

FIXED CASTORS

Fixed castors have the top plate rigidly fastened to the fork legs with the wheel in line with the fixing bolt holes.  These castors do not swivel at all and the wheel can only move in two directions, forwards and backwards.

BOLT HOLE CASTORS

These castors are for customers requiring a single central hole in the top of the castor, available in swivel and fixed form.

TWIN CASTORS

With the same basic swivel design as the single wheel castors these allow heavier loads to be carried on tyred wheels without the need to increase the wheel diameter.

LOW LEVEL CASTORS

This castor is available with twin wheels or wide tread rollers and is ideal for heavy equipment that is on a smooth hard floor and requires occasional movement.

SCAFFOLD CASTORS

Standard scaffold castors are fitted with a wheel lock and swivel seal and with a socket or plug fittings.  All these castors conform to the requirements of BSS 1139.
