For clients that require precision-cut parts or intricate designs, we offer water-jet cutting facilities with a quick turnaround to meet exacting requirements. Our strength lies in our proven-quality products, technical ability, in-depth industry knowledge, and friendly, professional approach.
As a professional, forward-thinking and eco-conscious organisation, Camthorne acknowledges the impact that our operations may potentially have on the environment. Our objective is to minimise our impact on the environment, and we actively promote sustainability in all day-to-day operations, wherever practicable.
- We optimise material usage during manufacture to ensure the best yield is achieved from the minimum material. Off-cut materials are often used for samples to reduce waste.
- We prefer correspondence to be carried out electronically with regard to enquiries, orders and engineering drawings to prevent unnecessary waste. These are stored for easy retrieval through in-house software.
- We aim to reuse or recycle all of our packaging, including cardboard and pallets.
- Our office staff use email as a preferred method of communication, and no documents are printed unless absolutely necessary.
- All manufacturing waste, paper and recyclable packaging are collected and recycled by a specialist waste management company.
- All chemical compounds used in manufacture and cleaning are stored in accordance with applicable guidelines, and disposed of to government legislation.
- Staff are encouraged to reduce water and electricity usage, especially through shutting down machinery when not in operation.
On a day-to-day basis, we take all practical steps to ensure that potential hazards and risks to the environment are identified, and that suitable and effective preventative and control measures are implemented. All employees are provided with the necessary resources, equipment, information and training to fulfil our goals of sustainability.
As a matter of best practice, at all times we comply with the requirements and duties set out within Approved Guidance as issued by the Environment Agency and other organisations.
We have achieved accreditation to the new BS EN ISO 9001 & 14001:2015 standard – this revised version focuses on performance, and aligns with other key international management systems more easily.
Camthorne have held ISO 9001 certification for over a decade & more recently achieved 14001, demonstrating our commitment to customer focus and satisfaction, a culture of continuous improvement, and high levels of staff engagement and motivation through all levels of the company. Our quality management system is regularly audited both internally and externally, and evaluated for effectiveness and conformance.
