Fast-Turnaround Thermal Oil Gaskets
Camthorne fulfilled an urgent order for thermal oil gaskets — despite the clients inability to supply traditional technical drawings or dimensional data. Faced only with the physical flanges, our team turned to advanced scanning to capture every critical detail, allowing us to generate precise CAD drawings.
Challenge: No Drawings, No Problem
When the client reached out Monday morning requiring a batch of custom thermal oil gaskets, they had no drawings or measurements to share. All that was available were the existing flanges on which the gaskets would seat. Traditionally, missing documentation can introduce delays of days or even weeks while engineers reverse-engineer parts manually. The flanges were scanned on-site, capturing all the detail across the sealing surfaces. The scanned images were then converted into fully dimensioned CAD files, ready for CNC programming.
Same-Day Production with CNC Precision
By early afternoon, the CAD data was loaded into our Atom FlashCut CNC machine. Utilizing high-temperature–rated gasket material, our machine cut the custom gaskets with precision and speed enabling our client to collect the finished gaskets on the same day preventing costly downtime in their thermal oil system.
